Jun 16, 2011 · I had a chat with Intel a few months ago about port multiplier support. The last chipset supporting PM is P35. Everything later then P35 is without Port Multiplier support, because it is not compatible with RST Rapid Storage Tech drivers. I had a 4 bay esata/usb3 enclosure hooked on an esatabracket connected to the sata2 on my P35 motherboard.

No, unfortunately it is not supported; these chips are not validated for port multipliers. If you have for example a laptop with this processor and you try to connect it to a SATA port multiplier through eSATA connectors on the laptop, the eSATA are not "PM-aware", and thus will only see the first drive in the port multiplier enclosure.

Feb 17, 2011 · I have the e758 and im going to pair it with this 4 bay external enclosure I know the JMicron controller does not support port multiplying but do the internal black sata connectors that are on the ich10r support it? I could't get a clear answer via search.
