Asking as I rented a server with specs saying it has an i7 4790k and ECC memory. Didn't seem weird at first as I hadn't put 2 and 2 together but I'm pretty sure it doesn't support ECC memory. Can anyone confirm or are there 'special' i7 processors for servers? I doubt it as that would cannibalize the Xeon range but I might be wrong.
