Jul 16, 2008 · I have a PowerMac G5 and since the 10.5.4 update I have had the same problem. Skype, PhotoBooth and other apps see the iSight without problem. In fact, iChat sees the iSight as the sound source, but will not let me video chat, even on the local network (Gig Ethernet). I get the same message - This computer does not support video conferencing.

May 02, 2010 · So I just noticed that the video icon in iChat only shows the audio chat option, and in the preferences, I get this: My iSight works fine in Photo Booth. I m on a new 13 MBP purchased 4/16.

May 09, 2010 · You may be unable to participate in a video or audio chat in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard on PowerPC-based Macs that have an 867Mhz G4 processor. The iChat Video menu may not appear, and under the Connection Doctor's Capabilities tab your computer may be listed as "unable to participate in a video conference" due to bandwidth/network issues.

Feb 04, 2010 · No that's not possible. Get a real Sorenson VP device and a TV set, it's much easier to deal with. There's no good support making direct calls to your friends from a Mac computer, unless you know how to tweak which is a little complicated...which involves IP calling, Ichat does not support IP calling with video...but there may be other shareware webcam conference apps that can do that.

Jul 10, 2008 · I upgraded to Leopard and video conferencing isn't working on ichat. I have a MBP, C2D, 2.33 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 256 MB ATI RADEON. When I go into the ichat Preferences pane and click on Video/Audio, there is a message ' This computer does not support videoconferencing.'
