Jul 16, 2008 · I have a PowerMac G5 and since the 10.5.4 update I have had the same problem. Skype, PhotoBooth and other apps see the iSight without problem. In fact, iChat sees the iSight as the sound source, but will not let me video chat, even on the local network (Gig Ethernet). I get the same message - This computer does not support video conferencing.

May 09, 2010 · You may be unable to participate in a video or audio chat in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard on PowerPC-based Macs that have an 867Mhz G4 processor. The iChat Video menu may not appear, and under the Connection Doctor's Capabilities tab your computer may be listed as "unable to participate in a video conference" due to bandwidth/network issues.

While I can see my image I can not see the image of his friend, when I close the window and try again, I get a message saying that my request was denied. when I try to video chat with Ichat, I can only see my preview window and can not see video.Yet have no problem and I can see and preview window.

I was cleaning up my brother’s iMac and found that audio conferencing worked in iChat, but video conferencing would now.
