There is no RAID mode TRIM support on drivers for older chipsets. Intel states that RST support was added for the X79 chipset in RST version 11.6.0.0000 and after. On some 6 series chipsets there is a modification for the ROM in the BIOS, which will allow TRIM support on the 6 series chipset.

My simple desire is to have the cache SSD working at best with trim support. Right now the SSD, as I wrote, is connected to the ICH10 chipset, but there is a raid array so I'm not sure if the Intel Rapid Storage is passing TRIM commands ( activated form windows, I did the check) to SSD.

Nov 21, 2013 · Windows is another story. It has an old storage backend, meaning it cannot properly support TRIM and UNMAP (the SCSI equivalent to TRIM). There is UNMAP support in Windows 8 however. I have not tested it, but the problem is that TRIM/UNMAP are not unified, as it should be. There will still be many cases where you will not have TRIM support.
