Dec 31, 2008 · HDCP is not on component cables so some content will not play over component in HD. HDMI does require HDCP so that works. In short, all component connections on all TVs should do that.

How ever on Friday last week the following message has apeared (this screen does not support HDCP). Sky are suggesting its an issue with the TV. I have checked the leads, reset the TV hard and soft, reset the SKYQ box up updated the software on that too. It will come back on from time to time after a soft reset but only momentaruily.

May 20, 2009 · It means you TV doesn't support HDCP, or High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection. Your cable box won't output a signal because without HDCP the signal could be copied, to a DVD or other recording device. Basically, its yet another way for the media outlets to control what you do with your media. Theres not really a fix for this.
