NetCDF: Network Common Data Form — GDAL documentation

    https://gdal.org/drivers/raster/netcdf.html
This format is supported for read and write access. This page only describes the raster support (you can find documentation for the vector side) NetCDF is an interface for array-oriented data access and is used for representing scientific data.. The fill value metadata or missing_value backward compatibility is preserved as NODATA value when available.

GDAL netCDF Support - Unidata

    https://www.unidata.ucar.edu/mailing_lists/archives/netcdfgroup/2004/msg00001.html
GDAL is an open source multi-format read/write library for geospatial raster data. I am interested in pointers to sample netCDF "grid" files, or cooperation from anyone intersted in testing the GDAL netCDF support - especially GMT users.

NetCDF_Improvements – GDAL

    https://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/wiki/NetCDF_Improvements
GDAL and NetCDF support metadata in different ways, which should be harmonised. Issues with the current implementation. The import process does not use the Conventions attribute and does not consider different possible Conventions (COARDS, CF-1.0, CF-1.5, etc.)

#27 (netcdf-4 unsupported in gdal builds) – UbuntuGIS

    https://trac.osgeo.org/ubuntugis/ticket/27
The ubuntugis-unstable builds of gdal have a problem with netcdf-4 files (which use hdf5 storage). The consequence is that netcdf-4 files are not supported in apps that use gdal (like qgis), because the hdf5 driver is used and it does not read dimension information of netcdf-4 files.

[netCDF #DHP-215318]: GDAL and netCDF conflicts

    https://www.unidata.ucar.edu/support/help/MailArchives/netcdf/msg07659.html
From: "Unidata netCDF Support" <address@hidden> ... Hi Asheer, I'm not aware of any GDAL/netCDF issues. The assertion violation means that the netCDF library function that returns the size (in bytes) of a primitive type has been given a type that it doesn't recognize. The types in netCDF-3 are integers between 1 and 6.

c# - Problem with GDAL distribution and netCDF support ...

It is the "release-1800-x64-gdal-2-2-1-mapserver-7-0-6.zip", downloaded just today. In the information about this distribution it is indicated that it includes support for netCDF format. But when I run "gdalinfo --formats", netCDF is not in the list of the supported formats.

HDF – GDAL - OSGeo

    https://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/wiki/HDF
export CFLAGS="-fPIC -DHAVE_NETCDF" export CXXFLAGS="-fPIC -DHAVE_NETCDF" export LIBS="-lm" ./configure --disable-fortran The -fPIC and LIBS may not be necessary on all platforms. Without this fix either GDAL will crash intermittently when accessing netcdf files, or the build of GDAL will fail. Additional linux workaround. if rebulding hdf is ...
