    Jul 27, 2015 · When you install maps on the GPS, they aren't "folders", they're files that have a .img extension. If you somehow transferred the 24k topo in two separate "chunks", the GPS would automatically group them both together and treat them like a single file because their internal ID number would be the same. Look inside the Garmin folder on your GPS.

    I was also seeing the “your gps does not support map transfer” on a 2 GB micro SD card for my GPSMap 60CSx. I took the card out of the unit, put it in a card reader, formatted the micro SD card (quick format, default allocation size). I put it back in the device, and was able to transfer maps to it.
