Jun 05, 2015 · While there is no controller support, there is a mode where you can use your mouse cursor to move Geralt and it is very simple to get a hang of. You will still want to use your keyboard during gameplay since that is really the simplest way of switching your fighting style and magic type.

Dec 12, 2015 · Overall, I'd say read a synopsis of the story up to the end of the Witcher 1 (including the books) with the Neutral or Order path (those would be Geralt's most likely chosen based on his character in the books) and start the Witcher 2, which is designed to work with a controller.

The Witcher 1 is much easier played with a mouse, I would imagine playing it with a gamepad would be very difficult. But I suck using a mouse. I've tried using it on multiple occassions but it just doesn't click with me for some reason.
