Nov 13, 2008 · I have run yum list all *utils* and no 1394 / firewire utilities show up. I would appreciate help in knowing whether I have to recompile a kernel or download other packages to get this to work with CentOS-5.2. I would appreciate any suggestions! -- Jack

Dec 07, 2004 · (6 replies) I just recently downloaded and installed the CentOS 3.3 release, and I'm having a bit of a problem... It appears that no support for firewire drives has been included. I am unable to find the ohci1394 or sbp2 modules anywhere. Are there other packages which must be installed from the distribution to get firewire devices to be recognized?

Sep 11, 2006 · My FireWire drive has worked perfectly since I first added CentOS Plus support to 4.3. It continues to do so under 4.4. Ever since I added 4.3 CentOS Plus, my kernel has had a "plus" in its name, and never an "unsupported."

Jun 18, 2009 · In the past, I have configured ASM and OCFS on Centos 5.3 successfully, but I am now trying to configure it on Centos-Plus. I am trying to setup a test RAC using fierwire drive. Centos 5.3 doesn't support Firewire (atleast I could not any firewire rpm for Centos 5.3), but centos-Plus does support firewire.
