Dependency is not satisfiable: python (<2.7) Long story short…I’d like to clone a drive in an up and running machine. How do I get a newer version of Python, or is there a gui alternative you’d recommend. Clonezilla wants you to boot up with a “live” cd and run from there.

Software packages can have dependencies on other packages. In order to install something by just providing a .deb package file, you also need to provide the packages it depends on (and the packages they depend on, etc). So I would suggest that whatever you're trying to install has its own dependencies that you're not fulfilling.
