Apr 20, 2015 · UDMA66 was a cachebuffer technology for the IDE interface of old HDDs and CDROMs supporting transferrates of up to 66MBps. Todays SATA standard has transfer rates of 600MBps on the SATA3 interface and 300MBps on the SATA2 interface. Your computer uses both these interfaces with SATA3 for the SSD and SATA2 for the HDD.

If you have a computer with an Intel chipset that supports UDMA66, you will still find that UDMA66 mode is disabled by default on Windows 2000 computers. This tweak allows you to enable or disable it. Open your registry and find the key below. Create a new DWORD value called "EnableUDMA66" and set it to "1" to enable UDMA66 or "0" to disable it.

May 30, 2009 · old technology. Udma transfer at 66 mb/s. Sata transfer at either 150 mb/s or 300 mb/s (depending if you have a sata or sata II drive). I'd ignore whatever the office depot program said, and move on. the point about udma66 support is moot.
