    Mar 06, 2018 · Not sure if this has been fixed or not, but if you do not have a sound card that is compatible with Creative ALchemy, you need Creative ALchemy Universal. I use the Razer Kraken USB 7.1 headset and Universal works well to enable EAX in older games like WoW and Oblivion with Side's EAX control mod.

    Oct 07, 2010 · Correct, Vista and 7 do not support hardware accelerated sound. If you want support for EAX 1 or 2, just download OpenAL, a very small driver that will enable EAX 1/2 support. I'm not sure what the Realtek drivers do, but it's probably similar (or a port of) OpenAL.
