I would then either decommission and sell the old drobo and 3+3 or use it as an extra backup for your most valued 3TB of data... you could also bargain seek for refurb or used 3TB drives to build that thing back up. I have a Gen 1 and Gen 2 drobo that are older than your FS and still work great.
