It doesn't seem to like the syntax /*reports/ and indicates no files can be found.

@Marichyasana, to copy a single file, no need for xcopy, but this can be used. The question does not involve any wildcard character in source, only in target. And this is what can not be done not with copy nor with xcopy and the reason for the for command.

Aug 02, 2018 · I believe XCOPY (and Robocopy) use wildcards for files only and you cant designate a 'folder' wildcard. Whats the general scenario that is wanting you to do this? Without much effort you could export your folder names to a CSV, filter them down to what you are looking for, and script XCOPY, ROBOCOPY, or Powershell to only copy those folders (referencing the csv).
