Jan 31, 2012 · I have a Lenovo Thinkpad notebook with built-in USB 3.0 ports. I am using B&R 10.0.11.11844. My backup drive is an external WD MyBook 3.0. I can back up to that drive through the USB 3.0 port under Windows, but if I try to access the drive connected to either a USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 port with the WinPE 3.0 CD, it will not recognize it.

Despite setting the USB controller compatibility to USB 3.0, and installing my printer software in my XP guest, neither my USB 3.0 external hard drives nor my printer are shown as present in my XP Explorer or anywhere within XP. The guest OS does not see the host OS hardware, so unlike with a USB external device that you can directly connect to the guest OS, why would you want to have SATA support within Windows XP? --Wil

Mar 08, 2010 · a good reason why Microsoft should consider making a Windows 7 Service Pack 2 - include USB 3.0 drivers into W7 SP2 (hey, MSFT included USB 2.0 drivers into Win2000 SP4 and the 3 SPs for WinXP). Windows 7 is still in mainstream support until January 2015 and we should be able request improvements into W7 until that time.
