Dec 14, 2016 · Hi Rob, Sorry for the delay reply. After discuss with our scenario engineer, we t ried NFS setup on both Windows 2008 R2/CentOS 7, both Windows/Linux clients can mount the share successfully, and no credential prompt.. At this point, we suspect the NFS Server setup on Linux server has strict permission restrictions.

rtacconi's answer is dated and would apply for 2003, not 2008. Windows 2008 R2 has a stock NFS server. NFS Basically just acts as another protocol. If you install the role, NFS is a tab under SHARING. We use it to serve up over 500K files to Centos 5.5 boxes in our web cluster. Seems to work pretty well.

Jul 10, 2008 · I followed the instructions and was able to get NFS Server and Client working on my newly built Windows 2008 Server but I am unable to create an NFS Share. It appears the way to do this is to find a folder in Explorer and right mouse click it and choose NFS Sharing... in the context menu.
