The Wii mini does not support the use of an SD Card. If you have not yet updated your Wii console to Wii Menu 4.0 or higher, then your Wii console is only compatible with SD Cards that are 2 GB (Gigabyte) or less. Cards with a capacity higher than 2 GB will likely not work with the Wii console if it has not been updated to 4.0 or higher.

Aug 03, 2009 · At the time of this post, the Wii (up to, and including System Menu 3.4) can only read SD cards up to 2GB. The Homebrew Channel, and SOME apps can read SDHC/HCSD (I've seen it both ways) cards up to, and including 16Gig. Q. Can I use the HC card just to load the twilight hack? A. NO! The Wii by it self cannot read HC cards.

May 20, 2013 · After a minute or so, the Wii finally finished it’s scan of the 128 GB SDXC card and reported that it had over 976,649 blocks free! That’s quite a bit of space for Wii saved data! For a device produced in 2006 and equipped with a SDHC slot, it’s amazing to see that it’s compatible with the latest large capacity SDXC cards.
