According to Oracle WebLogic 8.1 supported configurations, WebLogic 8.1 does not support Java 1.5.It might or might not work, but it is not recommended to try it in a production environment. Nov 16, 2015 · WebLogic 12.1.3 can be used with Java 7 or Java 8. Using WebLogic 12.1.3 with Java 7 caused warnings because of the permspace settings in the WebLogic start scripts. Permspace is removed from JDK 8, so also these warnings are gone now with WebLogic 12.2.1 and JDK8. JDK 8 comes with Nashorn JavaScript engine. Try the jjs command line tool.

Oct 13, 2014 · How on earth is it possible that being the vendor of both Java and Weblogic, Oracle stays behind others? JBoss Wildfly has had Java 8 support for some time now, but Oracle does not even know when they are going to support it. Something definitely wrong here. Please, Oracle release support for Java 8 ASAP.
