Sep 07, 2009 · Hello, I would like to know if VMWare ESXi 4.0 supports SAN, NAS if so how does it work, how to configure and setup SAN/NAS in ESXi 4.0? Currently I have one ESXi server installed in Dell PowerEdge 2950 server that has 5 x 300 GB hard drives configured as RAID5, am planning to add 2 more ESXi servers and also have disk storage.

Mar 18, 2009 · Cons of using NAS NFS with VMware ESX. The No. 1 drawback associated with using NAS NFS with VMware ESX is supposed to be performance. To some extent, NAS performance does tend to be a bit slower than FC or iSCSI SAN storage. Mar 20, 2014 · I would be running VMware 5.5 with 3 ESXi Hosts, around 25 VM's which include IIS Servers, a SQL 2008 R2 server, application servers, terminal servers, file server, etc. So 3x enterprise class servers with four hour support, I assume, all running on a single SMB class (non-enterprise) NAS device with next business day support.
