Jul 20, 2008 · Anyway, if you are having troubles with VLC player that it does not display the subtitles, make sure the srt file(s) and avi file(s) are in the same folder and have the same filename (except for the .srt and .avi extensions obviously).

I know that WMP naturally doesn't support .srt files like VLC Player does, but if there is any tweaking or adjustments that can be done to enable this option, please share with me. I am fed up of using other Third Party Media Players and all advertising crap that comes with it.

Aug 30, 2017 · Not in a SRT file. The color is set by the playback device, not the video file. But with VLC, and probably a fair amount of other players, you can change the displayed SRT sub color. Look in 'Subtitles & On Screen Display Settings' under 'Tools>Preferences' in VLC.

Jan 24, 2020 · There is a .srt file in that folder that has the same filename as the movie itself, but VLC does not display the subtitles inside the movie when I stream the movie like this. Why is that? I tried to actually download the movie from Dropbox locally on my iPad in VLC iOS, including the .srt file and... now it does display the subtitles inside the movie.
