May 10, 2014 · The problem is this: lots of text in our database contains double byte UTF-8 characters but PrestaShop does not display these characters as intended (instead, each byte is displayed as an individual character). As far as I can tell, the page source is set to UTF-8, as is the database.

Some languages use characters that cannot be represented by using single-byte codes. Both ASCII and EBCDIC are single-byte codes.
