There's no problem with WPA2 on the PS3. The only device that i'm aware of that didn't support it was the PSP-1000 series. The PSPGo does and the Vita does (own both) and of course the PS3 does, both Slim and 60gb Phat. My advice to you would be to reset the router, failing that, try accessing the router settings and setting a custom WPA2 key.

Although you can change your Modem's settings to WEP if it does not work with WPA2. To change modem's settings, open its domain by writing 192.168.1.1 in your browser from your PC.
