A possible solution is to convert these to the " open". RAW format, DNG. This way you can keep your files in a RAW format, so you don't loose any quality, and they will be "safer" as on the long run DNG has a far bigger chance to keep being supported than a proprietary format made by one camera brand.

Aug 28, 2010 · The software that comes with the Canon is VERY powerful for manipulating RAW - I would strongly recommend looking at it if you haven't already. It would be nice if Picasa supported basic RAW viewing for your camera - I would suspect you will see that in the not too distant future as they catch up with new models.
