However there is nothing stopping you implementing the patch on the source of NHibernate and compiling the binaries yourself. I use MySql myself and have not come across another work around...

Jul 26, 2006 · I did not find a lot of information on using NHibernate in combination with a MySQL database. The reason I want to do this at all is quite simple, though: My ISP hosts ASP.NET 2 and MySQL databases. And finding an ISP that hosts SQL-Server 2005 and ASP.NET 2 at a price you can pay when you don't make money with your site is a hard task around here.

I'm very sure NHibernate does not support calling instance methods in the select lambda I'd suggest using the lambda syntax and SelectMany to alleviate potential join issues. Points #2 & #3 can be solved by projecting into an anonymous type, calling AsEnumerable then projecting into your model type.
