Short answer is yes. If you are asking if it is necessary to use cat6 cables, the answer is no, not for your setup. You can use cat5e just fine with this router and still get gigabit ethernet speed. The only time you would really need cat 6 is if you are using a 10 gigabit network, which you aren't.

Initially CAT7 was supposed to be used for 100 Gigabit Ethernet over copper supporting a max network segment of 100 Meters before having to be repeated by a switch or other network device.
