It does not matter what your current OS is - sysinfo, properties, etc., will only tell you what your current OS is. To find out whether your hardware is 64-bit capable, download and run Microsoft's Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. The "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor" should give you a full report on whether your system can run 32-bit and/or 64-bit. Any drivers can be downloaded, no issue there.

Nov 27, 2016 · Well you have an i5, which is definitely 64-bit capable. In fact most processors put out in the last 10 years or so have been 64-bit capable. Please note a few things. 1) 64-bit doesn't run any faster than 32-bit unless a program is starved for memory. 2) 64-bit in general needs 1.25 to 1.5 more memory than 32-bit.

Oct 28, 2012 · You can't upgrade a 32 bit operating system with a 64 bit operating system. You will need a 32 bit version of Windows 8. You will need to do a clean install if you want to put in a 64 bit version. Put dvd in drive and reboot and you'll get the option to boot off the dvd.
