The PIONEER drives are already factory set to bitsetting to dvdrom for DUAL LAYER MEDIA. The LG H10N & H22N drives can flashed with the dangerous brothers hacked firmware to provide bitsetting to dvdrom for SINGLE LAYER DVD MEDIA.

The Philips 8631 DVD burner of my Dimension 5000 does not support bitsetting. The firmware in Dell's archive cannot help, because it is older than the one already installed. I really can't understand, why Dell uses a DVD RW without bitsetting. It is impossible to burn a "compatible to standalone players" Video DL disc with such a DVD burner.

Oct 30, 2005 · ok, i use ImgTool (0.91.6) to create an ISO image (splitted 1GB files Fat32). It refuse to decypher the DVD (errors) but works with the DVD Decrypter files created previously. Now i tried to change the bitsetting of my LG DVD burner in IMGBurn and it says it failed. Maybe it's not supported.

Bitsetting - is that important thinking about getting the new Pionner 110 that writes to DVD-RAM but that one doesn't support Bitsetting I can't think of any other features all I know is I want the best drive for backing up my DVD collection.
