in order to increase the range of my router but without success. Linksys site says that the WRE54G works with WAP54G and WRT54G. But since WAG200G is more recent, I was thinking maybe it would work. Seems the expander can connect to the router, but it won't route any data to it and router won't even ping the expander.

Im trying to setup the wag200g as modem in complete bridge mode but it doesnt seem to work. Its currently running in pppoa mode with a username and passwd. When switched to bridge, the webinterface removes the possibility to enter credentials.

First make sure that all the firewalls on the computer are disabled. Also try reseting the router. Disconnect the modem from the router. Try accessing the setup page. If that does not work upgrade the firmware of the gateway. Also reduce card speed of the NIC to 10Mbps half dulpex.
