Jan 30, 2015 · Re: [Solved] PAE on ATOM processor ? @geekus: While not all Atoms are created equal, I can verify that the PAE kernels work great on an N270 - one of the earliest Atoms. If your Atom is a true dual-core (not hyperthreaded like my N270), I would go for the amd64 kernel.

I also have an Acer Aspire One netbok with Atom N270 processor (thank you, Intel). I can confirm that, despite specifications, the Linux /proc/cpuinfo is correct, and Atom N270 is indeed a dual core, or almost dual core processor. Either that, or Hyperthreading is no longer what it used to be.Author: Bustaf

Nov 02, 2012 · Intel basically lied their ass off about this chip having xd-bit/PAE/NX. If you got an old man laptop and are interested in getting SL8U6 1.8Ghz to play full-speed unchained in the intel 855pm board let me know I made that work with windows 8 because it does have PAE and NX!

(HP T5745) equipped with an Intel Atom N280. It looks like this 32Bit-CPU supports PAE (cat /proc/cpuinfo told so). Because of this I put 8GB of memory into the thin client.
