May 02, 2016 · As I predicted in this thread over 3 years ago, Facebook had no real interest in adding proper support for OpenID. They only paid lip service to the whole OpenID thing but in the background simply pushed their Facebook Connect technology.

No, Windows Live ID is not an OpenID Provider, nor are (most) Microsoft sites OpenID relying parties. Microsoft is still researching OpenID adoption. I expect they will become an OpenID Provider eventually, but no date has been announced as far as I know.
