My wireless card driver is for the "Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN Mini Card", and I haven't been able to connect to wireless networks that use WPA2 encryption of any type (personal or enterprise). I suspect that this driver is to outdated for newer routers, so I assume that I'll need a newer driver.

Re: Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-Card / problems connecting to WPA-PSK protected network I had issues with the 1395 card under Ubuntu on a Latitude D531 and it worked when switched to wpa/psk when the router was set to wpa2/psk with tkip, go figure.

I have four new Dell Laptops, two are Latitude D830's and two are Precision M6300's that all have this Dell wireless 1395 WLAN mini card. In the office we have wifi setup that all the rest of the laptops can connect to. The new computers with the Dell wireless 1395 WLAN mini card can see the wifi network but they will not connect to it.

Nov 11, 2009 · I have an XPS M1530 that has a Dell wireless 1395 WLAN mini-card in it. I'm using the Dell wireless WLAN utility that came installed on the computer when I got it about 7 months ago. At that point Windows Vista HP 64 was installed.

Jun 23, 2009 · As a result of this effort, Broadcom released an updated Linux wireless driver that supports cards based on the Broadcom 4311, 4312, 4321, and 4322 chipsets, which include the Dell 1490, 1395, 1397, 1505, and 1510 Wireless cards. This driver is included in the Ubuntu 8.10 release, and should be added to Ubuntu 8.04.
