Jul 04, 2018 · At least with Cisco ASA i beg to differ (and i have configured a lot of policy based VPNs with Cisco ASA). But even with IOS, it is a matter of taste, if route based VPN or policy based VPN is easier to setup. With route based VPN, it would be possible to send encrypted traffic and receive the corresponding answer uencrypted or vice versa.

Is that correct? And if so does the Remote Access VPN terminate on the ASA or on the router? Based on what you have told us so far and on what I think I understand here is my first shot at an answer to your question. I would think that Policy Based Routing should be able to solve your problem.

or not, if we just establish the lan to lan vpn with HQ VPN device, the traffic matched the access-list revert to vpn tunnel automatically with any routing? then it's ok, but I think Cisco ASA does not support PBR(policy-base-routing) yet, I wonder if there is no specific route is required to point out IPSEC tunnel.

Re: Policy based routing and Cisco ASA The ASA is doing the static NAT for the server. I can fix it by setting the GW of the PC's on the 172.20.200.0 network to the inside interface of the ASA, but then I cannot get to other parts of the internal network.
