Re: BT Home Hub 3 and Synology Diskstation DS212J DDNS settings. There are only a few DDNS options built into the home hub. I use DynDNS, and that seems fine. There is a small annual fee, but host names do not expire, and you have plenty of choice of names. Once it is setup on the home hub, you do not need to use any othe update client on your NAS. No-IP is another option, see this link.

The BT Home Hub is a 4 port Ethernet switch and ADSL modem router with firewall capability. The firewall is enabled by default blocking incoming connections from the internet thus protecting your network. yes you will need to enable dynamic DNS on the hub. Go to Advanced, then click Continue to advanced:. On the extended menu at the left under configuration click Dynamic DNS at the bottom and you'll be able to enter your DynDns details in there.

Hi, The PlusNet Hub one is basically the same as the BT home hub 5 so I would see no reason why it would have a different DNS provider list. In any case you could always continue to use your BT hub with PlusNet, you just need to change the username/password in the connection details.

Getting DDNS on Home Hub 4 Working. Folks - just spent £30 on BT "Expert" help to resolve a problem on the home hub 4 and got no solution. They did spend a lot of time on it but it became clear they didn't really understand and in effect gave up.
