The new Blackberry devices use ActiveSync, so it isn't an issue. You can get an ActiveSync client for Blackberry if you want to work that way, but using BES Express will give you the best experience, which in my opinion is far better than the ActiveSync end user experience, particularly on what I can do with my Blackberry with regards to my mailbox and accessing the internal resources (I don't care about apps).

We use this for our own customers and recommend it as a solution.
