Dec 08, 2012 · The reason many android systems are set up to read ntfs is so that tablets can host usb disk drives. Fat32 is not reliable enough for large storage sizes due to corruption from premature disconnect, and 64gb cards are close to what i consider too large to risk.

Aug 22, 2016 · Nope. If it's already in exFAT or FAT32, the phone will just recognize it and use it. It'll only try to format new, unformatted cards or cards with unsupported formats, like NTFS.
