Both AMD and Intel support something called Hardware Virtualization. AMD calls their implementation “AMD-V” and Intel calls their implementation “Intel VT”. This hardware virtualization is not a deal breaker depending on what you want to do, but if you plan to run any 64 Bit virtual machines it is a requirement.

The AM2 version supports virtualization, but the 939 version (which I believe you have due to the 939 in your motherboard model) does not support it. – Thomas Georgiou Aug 3 '09 at 3:28 +1 upvote as your comments contain correct information.
