Jan 24, 2009 · Question: Q: Airport Extreme and NTFS Does anyone know if Apple intends to update the Airport Extreme "N" router to support NTFS? I wish to back up the Vista side of my MacBook Pro over the network to an external G-Tech 1 TB HD attached to, and shared by my iMac.

Feb 26, 2018 · AirPort base stations don't support encrypted formats or disks formatted as APFS, ExFAT, or NTFS. After connecting the formatted USB drive to your base station, choose Finder > Preferences, then select ”External disks” to see the shared drive in the Finder sidebar.

Jul 19, 2012 · The hard drive reason is the most important factor, but I have just found out that the Extreme does not support NTFS formatted hard drives. This is pretty much a deal breaker for me, as I cannot reformat my NTFS drive to FAT32 or HFS+ because I do not have another hard drive to transfer all my content onto it whilst it is being formatted.

Sep 22, 2013 · I got worried about when I found out that the Airport does not suport NTFS but only FAT32 and HFS+. FAT32 is not a option because I have lots of files over 4GB I would like to put on the router's hard drive.
