I can get a dl380 g5 with 1 QC 2.66GHZ, 6GIG memory, DVD-RW, dual power supplies with 3 year HP warranty for 1000.00. The dl360 g5 goes for around 875.00, so I would not buy a dl380 g4 unless it was a SAS model loaded and for under 700.00. Hope this helps.

Oct 20, 2011 · I have a DL380 G4 running 2008 R2, but it is not capable of Hyper-V due to a lack of VT. Generally, it would make a great personal server or educational server (especially since they're about $300 or less these days). I would not under any circumstances use it as a production server because of the system's age and support level (none).

Working to take company to virtual, but no budget until we get some traction. eBayed two DL380's and found 7110M Intel chips that support VT; now need to upgarde motherboards to match chips, have VT capability and fit the DL380 hardware.

I (and my team) have brand new HP ZBook 15 G4 notebooks, and Intel VT technologies are set, but not functioning. We have set/unset/reset VT-d and VT-x settings in BIOS, updated to the most recent BIOS of January 23rd, flashed firmwares, and installed all current drivers appropriate to our model.
