Feb 17, 2012 · I'm trying to enable my ups (APC Back-UPS350) on my new windows 7 desktop pc. APC told me to install PowerChute software/drivers. The install stops with a 'disable native windows power management' statement. I can't figure out how/where to do this.

Microsoft has removed the serial UPS support from its operating systems. Solution: For Smart-UPS switch connection type and use USB or install PowerChute Business Edition. For Back-UPS use USB or if the Back-UPS is compatible with serial communications use USB to Serial converter.
