It did the first couple of times I ran it (ignoring a crash that occurred when I clicked on something - can't remember what), but now the control window or whatever it is is a blank 200x200 window, which isn't very useful.

Apr 03, 2010 · Update: Updated the sample code to spit out a grayscale ASCII PGM on stdout so you can actually see what it's capturing. Looks like the video4linux project could use a convenience library for people who want to do simple things. But at least they have good example code.
