Which Delphi version was the first one to offer multi-core support? Would I presume correctly that the latest version 2010 / XE are recommended for multi-core support? Multithreading is a very good tool for doing this, so enabling multithreading in applications is something we need - but it's not because the CPUs are going to be multi-core. There are many ways that CodeGear can make Delphi support these techniques, either using technologies like MIDAS, or by modifying the language slightly.

Oct 22, 2009 · One thing I've been able to play with as of late is multi-processing support, or taking into account the presence of multiple CPUs. While I can't say much as it relates to "best practices" to make efficient use of multi-processing, I can describe some basics related to what you would need to do to take it into account.

I often read requests in this group for automatic multi core support in the compiler. I don't really believe this is useful on a business programming (so not scientific of image processing), but I kept quiet.
