The Debian project released Debian GNU/Linux 5.0 alias lenny on the 15th of February 2009. Users and distributors have been given a one-year timeframe to upgrade their old installations to the current stable release. Dec 08, 2011 · this is a not supported way. I do not see any reason for "panic". official support will end, but as always, if major security issues occurs there will be fixes, also for Lenny after February. But we will encourage all users to move to 2.0 - as soon as its stable.
