The WL-520GU WRT has been supported as of DD-WRT v.24 RC7. USB (e.g. external storage or printer). As of DD-WRT v24 Final Release you are able to use the web-GUI to enable, setup and configure USB support. You MUST use builds that are tagged mini-usb or mini-usb-ftp to do this.

Some versions of dd-wrt have USB support built in and can be enabled via the web-GUI, but all versions of dd-wrt can have USB enabled by installing the required kernel modules to JFFS, then using a startup script to mount individual devices.

The mini build we installed does not have USB support. If you want to use the USB port on your router, you will have to upgrade to a USB build such as dd-wrt.v24_usb_generic.bin. Once dd-wrt is installed, it is easy to upgrade. Simply use the Administration->Firmware Upgrade tab in dd-wrt…

Mar 21, 2008 · Lol, wish i had found this thread a few days while ago when I could'nt find much info on dd-wrt for the 520GU, and flashed on dd-wrt.v24_mini_asus.trx. DD-wrt is working fine, but it's only using 2mb of the 4mb flash.. so I will try using the web interface to flash on the image mentioned in this thread and hope it works :D
