Hello, Unfortunately the roadmap for Crowd, Jira and Confluence do not include support for SAML. It is an often requested feature that we are not going to include in our product line.

Using Atlassian Crowd With LDAP. With Active Directory Federation Services. If you use Atlassian Crowd server for user management, it adds another layer to one of the the above configurations. The only difference is that the external directory will communicate with Atlassian Crowd, while SAML authentication will be set up in the application.

Jun 12, 2017 · Let`s say you have JIRA and Crowd. Crowd is configured as a user directory inside JIRA, and you have our add-on installed in JIRA. After configuring at least one IDP, a user trying to log on to JIRA is redirected to the Identity Provider. After he is authenticated by the IDP, he is logged directly into JIRA. Crowd is only used as a user directory.
