Oct 01, 2003 · Using it, you could probably boot from it and then go to a DOS prompt and install Windows 98. I got around this problem (installed W98SE) last week by booting with a floppy with CD Rom support. Of course, you need a floppy drive to do that.

Jan 14, 2011 · Hi, I'm trying to make a bootable USB drive with CDROM support so I can reload a Dell Mini 1010. Not having much luck. I've tried using Norvicorps WintoFlash and copying the XP install CD on to the USB device but it creates hal.dll errors and ultimately will now allow XP to boot from the hard drive.
