Jumbo frame support is available in Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(13)EW and later for the Supervisor III and IV. In the documentation and product brochures, it states the SG 300 switches supports jumbo frames up to 10k. When I first setup the switch and enabled jumbo frames, i was getting very slow speeds in my network transfers (800kb/s !!!). Nov 08, 2011 · I have never used jumbo framesbefore but I though changing the MTU to 9000 from 1500 was suppose to make"large" data transfer quicker. I enabled jumbo frames on our production switches and performance was the same to taking an extra 15 seconds + to copy the same data.
