Jan 14, 2009 · My Itunes will only allow a maximum bit rate of 320... What extra software or equipment or upgraded equipment would I need to achive higher bit rates in the 700's?? I noticed higher bit rates in the 700's one day when I was online at a coffee shop and another users library showed up on my Itunes.

Apr 29, 2011 · Yep, take it from someone who ripped his own cd's 3 times (160, 256, 320kbs) until getting smart and going with apple lossless. Even load my iPod Touch (32 GB) up with apple lossless. Others may disagree, but I can here the difference between 320 kbs and apple lossless.

Sep 17, 2006 · And you can allow for lower bitrate: wavPack @ ~ 350kbps is sufficient IMO even for extreme quality demands. I did similar considerations concerning mp3 once and wanted to use 320 kbps. But I realized using ~250 kbps yields practically the same quality. Perfectness is not achievable with mp3 but a a very very good quality is.

May 11, 2016 · The MP3 default is 128 kbps, however, a lot of the music available for download is lower than this. Unless you ripped the music yourself and chose a higher bit rate your MP3s will be 128 kbps or lower. iTunes music is lossless, so saving to AAC 128 will be a significant reduction in bandwidth, which may or may not be noticeable to the average user.

Aug 09, 2018 · But still there are funny stories like a friend of mine that uses the built in output of is macbook pro (noisy as hell at least with my ie8 senns) and it's 15€ headphones says that he can hear the difference between 320 and lossless. The dac and the headphones make a lot more difference than 320 AAC and lossless.
