The Bluetooth Mesh Profile specification was released recently, and this BlueZ release comes with initial support for it in the form of a new meshctl tool. Oct 20, 2015 · All the Bluetooth keyboards I know of use the Human Interface Device (HID) protocol over Bluetooth. The main problem with this is that the major manufacturers of Android (HTC, LG, Samsung and others) all cripple the Bluetooth stack so it only supports a subset of the features found in stock Android (AOSP).

hidd is the Bluetooth human interface device (HID) daemon.
