May 15, 2015 · If you install PhysX when you have a AMD graphics card the calculation is made on the cpu instead as i understand it. I remeber when I had a AMD card and enabled PhysX in games, those games that allowed to enable this setting even if you had a AMD gfx card, the game would run would run horribly slow like Alice: Madness Returns.

nVidia is not Creative by far - Creative cannot even get their own shiite working. nVidia is not Firefox. It does not have to work on other hardware, but it would be nice if PhysX worked in every environment that NV HW or CUDA does, though. But then, when's the last major game you've seen released for Unix, FreeBSD, or even Ubuntu?

Dec 04, 2008 · ATI does not want to support PhysX. Likely because PhysX is owned by nVidia and it is closed, not open standard. I think it's a smart move and PhysX will not survive long enough anyway. We will have other universal physic standards working on all new GPUs not just nVidia or ATI in a year or so.
